"I had an insurance policy with Assurant Insurance, which is apparently affiliated with GEICO. Unfortunately, my experience was not positive. They continued to charge me for two consecutive months, even though I had paid the annual premium upfront. The customer service was terrible, and I was unable to reach them at all. As a result, I decided to terminate my relationship with them today and also filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's office. Naturally, I needed to find a new insurance provider. I contacted the State Farm office in Edmonds (Josh Schmick's office) and was pleasantly surprised by the promptness and professionalism of their service. Additionally, their quote was slightly lower than my previous one. Thank you."

"Just moved to Edmonds from CA. Have been a State Farm client for over 30 years so wanted to stay with them for new home owners and auto. Worked with Lisa. Was an excellent experience. "I was shopping for a new insurance company to bundle my home, car, umbrella and earthquake insurance to compare coverage and cost. The personnel at the John Schmick Agency were so wonderful! They were very open and gracious in adjusting our meeting time to accommodate my health issues. When I met with Lisa she greeted me professionally and warmly. "We hadn't had our home owner's insurance policy looked at in several years. After all the fires in LA last month, we decided it was time for a review. I dropped into Mr. Schmick's office and, though I did not have an appointment, Lisa greeted me right away and we got to work. I had a LOT of questions and they were all answered. The policy was reviewed and updated in just about 45 minutes. I had the opportunity to meet John Schmick as well, and he was terrific. It's great to know that, in case the worst were to happen and we needed help, John and Lisa are just a little over a mile away."

"If you are looking for someone who shows some cares about explaining the reason the insurance has raised significantly, don't call and talk with this agency. The "reasons" that I was given by the lovely female (ha! ha!) talking with me were the usual . . "it's inflation, cars a more complicated, we had COVID, it is the fault of all of those other drivers, yada yada. Somehow, there needs to be a change in how insurance company's can empty your pocket. Paying over $2000 annually for vehicle insurance is a very sad thing to see. Very condesding . . ."

Premium rates are set by underwriters, not the agent or the agency. The continued increases, across the entire industry, are frustrating. There are varying factors that go into assessing risk profiles for any policy. Lisa, my manager, shared with me that you hung up on her while she was trying to explain how rates are determined. We at the agency level have ZERO discretion over how rates are determined. I personally would offer the opportunity to address your concerns regarding our insurance services or offer what has contributed at an industry level to rates overall. I would talk with you to listen and see if I can further explain how rates work. "
